We provide commercial leasing expertise that includes drafting and negotiating leases, subordinations, guarantees, expansions, renewal rights, subleases, assignments, amendments, releases, sale-leasebacks and terminations. We also negotiate and litigate issues and disputes regarding lease terminations, evictions, construction evictions and bankruptcy filings. We have routinely reviewed leases for financing institutions including review of mortgageability of ground leases, review of credit tenant leases and general review of leases for financing and security purposes. We have significant experience in representing both landlords and tenants in office and retail leasing and have represented major national, regional and local entities in lease transactions in the Northeast.


We have acted as both local and primary counsel for developers in financing their real estate projects. In addition, because of our significant financing practice area, we have numerous relationships with both traditional and non-traditional lenders. We also have significant experience in public sector financing, including tax assessment deals, tax increment financing, state and federal grants, tax credits and other public-financing vehicles. Our real estate finance and leasing practice group has broad experience with Mortgage loans, mezzanine loans, construction loans, conduits and Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities loans to various legal entities including traditional borrowers, Real Estate Investment Trusts, pension funds and Real Estate Separate Accounts.
