Sandy focuses primarily in the areas of public finance & tax, representing states, municipalities, public entities, underwriters, banks & trustees in tax-exempt & taxable financings.
The American College of Bond Counsel was formed in 1995 for the purpose of recognizing lawyers who have established reputations among their peers for their skill, experience & high standards of professional & ethical conduct in the practice of bond law. The organization believes that a bond lawyer's expertise can best be judged by his or her peers & admits to membership only bond lawyers that have outstanding reputations in the field of municipal bond law. Membership is extremely limited & admission as a fellow is a recognition of the lawyer's accomplishments & legal expertise in the field of bond law. Sandy becomes one of only three fellows that reside in a Connecticut law firm.
"Sandy's skills & experience are highly valued at Updike, Kelly & Spellacy, & this honor exemplifies the recognition of the national bond counsel community for the quality of her work & contributions to the field of public finance," said John F. (Jef) Wolter, President of the Firm. "We are proud Sandy has been inducted as a fellow of the American College of Bond Counsel & that she is being recognized for her years of dedication to the craft of bond & tax law in the public finance area."
