Virtual seminar by Christopher L. Brigham on “Are Non-Refundable Tuition Provisions in Enrollment Contracts Actually Enforceable?”

On January 27, 2026, UKS Shareholder, Christopher L. Brigham, will be presenting a virtual seminar entitled “Are Non-Refundable Tuition Provisions in Enrollment Contracts Actually Enforceable?”. The seminar is part of the Connecticut Association of Independent Schools’ Annual Conference. 

Ever since the Covid-19 Pandemic, there has been a steady increase in litigation involving non-refundable tuition provisions in Enrollment Contracts. This session will discuss whether schools should have these provisions, best practices for drafting these provisions, the legal landscape for enforcement, and the practical realities for schools and families when schools seek to enforce the terms of their enrollment contracts.
