UKS Welcomes Summer Associate Class of 2023

Michael Francomano is a rising 3L at Boston College Law School where he is the head chairperson of the Law School Association’s Sports Committee. Prior to law school he earned his bachelor’s degree in history at the University of Connecticut while finishing in the top 15% of his class. Michael previously worked in Boston at a toxic torts litigation firm and is excited to join UKS to return to Connecticut and expand on his knowledge and exposure of all areas of the law.

Renee Varga is a rising 3L at UConn School of Law. At UConn, Renee is a member of Mock Trial Society and is the Lead Executive Editor for the Connecticut Law Review. Renee earned a BA in English Literature and Religious Studies from Hamilton College, and then worked at a nonprofit in Pittsburgh before returning home to Connecticut for law school. This summer Renee is excited to gain experience in different practice areas, and cheer on the UKS softball team in our weekly games.

Gillian Wilson is a rising 3L at the University of Connecticut School of Law, where she is a member of Mock Trial Society, Negotiation and Dispute Resolution Society, and Womxn Law Students Association.
After earning her bachelor’s degree from Wesleyan University, Gillian worked at a general practice law firm in Middletown, CT. As a summer associate, Gillian is excited to get to know and work with talented and experienced attorneys and gain exposure to both litigation and transactional law.

Tyler Peruta is a rising 3L at Quinnipiac University School of Law. As a Political Science and Economics undergraduate student, Tyler was one of the first in Quinnipiac history to graduate a year early as a double major in the 3+3 accelerated law program. Having worked both in-house and at small litigation firms, this summer Tyler is excited to finally get a feel for corporate work at a larger firm, gaining hands on experience while continuing to build on his legal skills.

Alice Merville is a rising 2L at the University of Connecticut School of Law. Before starting law school, she earned a degree in Biology and Vocal Jazz at the University of Massachusetts Amherst then spent one year working as a legal intern in a small firm in Wolcott, Connecticut. Since starting at UConn Law, she has won the Davis Mock Trial Competition, is a member of the Connecticut Journal of International Law and the Intellectual Property Law Society and is the social media coordinator of the Black Law Student Association. This summer, Alice is excited to work closely with excellent attorneys at UKS and gain a hands-on legal experience.

Theyju Ashok is a rising 2L at the University of Connecticut School of Law, where she is the incoming Vice President of the UConn Asian Pacific American Law Students Association and a member of the Connecticut Journal of International Law. Before law school, Theyju gained her B.A. in Biology from Barnard College of Columbia University, and her science background led her to an interest in intellectual property law. As a summer associate, Theyju is excited to gain exposure to a diverse range of practice areas and to build meaningful connections working closely with the many talented attorneys at UKS.
