UKS Welcomes First Year Associates

Jason Martinez is an associate in the Hartford office, where he practices in the Firm’s corporate department. Mr. Martinez received his J.D., with honors, from the University of Connecticut School of Law. While attending law school, Mr. Martinez took part in the UConn Intellectual Property and Technology Legal Clinic. Through his participation in the Clinic, Mr. Martinez was certified to represent trademark clients before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and earned the CALI Excellence Award for Performance. Mr. Martinez was also involved in the School’s Law and Technology seminar, in which he helped develop a practice management system for UConn’s Animal Law Clinic as well as an interactive guided online interview for the Connecticut Legal Rights Project. Also while in law school, Mr. Martinez was the Lead Article and Abstract Editor for the Connecticut Insurance Law Journal, the Academic Chair for the Black Law Students Association, and a Pupil for the Oliver Ellsworth Inn of Court professional society. Before law school, Mr. Martinez earned his B.A. from the University of Connecticut and worked in healthcare and operations for nearly a decade. 

Jeff Bausch is an associate in the firm’s New Haven office, practicing in the firm’s business, environmental and corporate services department. Mr. Bausch practices in the areas of environmental compliance, land use permitting, and real estate development.  He graduated from Providence College in 2016 with a degree in Political Science and from Quinnipiac University School of Law in 2019. While in law school, Mr. Bausch served as the Supervising Editor of the Quinnipiac School of Law Probate Law Journal. He published his article, “Who Watches the Watchmen: Conservatorship Reform in Connecticut Misses the Mark”, in the Journal last Fall. Mr. Bausch will publish a forthcoming article in the Lewis & Clark Law School Animal Law Review this Fall.   

Jeffrey Renaud is an associate in the firm’s Hartford office, where he practices in the areas of professional liability, insurance coverage and defense litigation, construction law, and commercial litigation.  Mr. Renaud joined the firm as a Summer Associate in 2018 and received his J.D, summa cum laude, from Quinnipiac University School of Law.  In law school, he was a Dean’s Fellow, President of the Mock Trial Honor Society, Note Editor for the Quinnipiac Law Review, and Chair of the Diversity Committee for the Student Bar Association.  Additionally, he worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Alvin W. Thompson in United States District Court in Hartford, Connecticut.  Mr. Renaud earned his B.A. in political science and theater from the University of Vermont, and is a member of Pi Sigma Alpha and the University of Vermont Boulder Society.
