On May 19, 2025, the “TAKE IT DOWN” Act (the “Act”)[1] was signed into federal law, establishing criminal punishment for intentional disclosures of nonconsensual sexually explicit content—either AI “deepfakes”[2] or actual depictions—online.[3] The Act makes two major changes to current federal law.
