Ileana Polanco Cavazos is an associate in the Hartford office. Ileana focuses her practice on complex business litigation, creditors’ rights, and bankruptcy-related disputes, representing clients across industries, including construction, financial services, healthcare, and technology industries. She regularly handles fast-moving commercial matters in state and federal courts, including breach-of-contract actions, business torts, government investigations, and regulatory actions involving the SEC and DOJ. Ileana has secured significant results for clients, including a $1 million arbitration award and settlement for a construction company, and she maintains an active pro bono practice. Ileana has also authored articles for the New York Law Journal on cryptocurrency regulation and federal agency enforcement, and she is fluent in English and Spanish.

Before joining the firm, Ileana externed for Senior Judge Kim Gibson of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and served as a judicial intern for Senior Judge Richard Barclay Surrick of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. She earned her J.D., cum laude, from Penn State Law and graduated with honors from The University of Texas at Austin.
