Jonathan L. Canestri
Associate, New Haven
Jonathan L. Canestri is an associate in the Firm’s New Haven office. He is a member of the Firm’s Estate Planning, Tax and Business Practice Groups.
Mr. Canestri advises businesses on general corporate matters, including entity formation and compliance with statutes and regulations. Mr. Canestri also represents public agencies and banks in lending transactions.
As a member of the Firm’s Estate Planning Practice Group, Mr. Canestri provides assistance to clients through the preparation of wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, durable powers of attorney, health care powers of attorney and living wills.
Mr. Canestri also advises businesses and individuals on state and federal income tax matters.
While in law school, Mr. Canestri was recognized with the Tax Faculty Award for achievement in Tax Law and held internships in the areas of estate and trust administration and partnership, corporate and estate taxation. Through his involvement with the Tax Clinic, Mr. Canestri represented taxpayers in proceedings before the Internal Revenue Service. Mr. Canestri also served as the Quinnipiac University School of Law liaison to the Connecticut Bar Association Young Lawyers Section.
Mr. Canestri received his J.D., cum laude, from Quinnipiac University School of Law. He received his B.S., summa cum laude, in Finance from Quinnipiac University School of Business. Mr. Canestri is currently pursuing an LL.M. in Taxation at Boston University School of Law.
