Adam B. Marks is a shareholder in the firm’s Hartford office. Mr. Marks focuses his practice on complex civil litigation concerning a wide range of matters including business disputes, intellectual property, and creditors’ rights. Mr. Marks represents clients in federal district courts and Connecticut Superior Court regarding a wide range of complex commercial matters including shareholder and member disputes, unfair trade practices, intellectual property disputes concerning both ownership and infringement, and false advertising claims. Mr. Marks also assists and counsels clients in applying for, registering, and maintaining trademarks with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

After Mr. Marks received his J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law, he had the privilege of clerking for the Honorable Douglas S. Lavine of the Connecticut Appellate Court. Prior to joining Updike, Kelly & Spellacy, Mr. Marks practiced in the areas of civil litigation, civil appeals and white collar criminal defense at another firm in Hartford.

Mr. Marks was recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in Connecticut every year since 2014 in the area of business litigation, and he has been published and guest lectured at the Quinnipiac University School of Law in the emerging area of e-discovery.
