Women Building Bridges is comprised of the many dynamic women attorneys at Updike, Kelly & Spellacy, P.C. Our mission is to encourage women to become active in their fields of expertise and in the community. Fundamental to this mission is our belief that professional women should build and strengthen relationships among one another. We host innovative events that are both informative and entertaining, and offer an arena for professional women to share their diverse philosophies, experiences and talents. These functions provide a significant opportunity for business women who are interested in expanding their network. It's not all business though, as we've learned that a wonderful way to build professional relationships is to first build personal ones. Our events are unique in both venue and presentation, where women may do anything from playing poker to baking chocolate soufflés. The key is the relationships formed and camaraderie developed during these functions. That is the foundation to growth and success, both ours and yours.
Women Building Bridges hosts several entertaining events for women annually. Some of our most recent events include:
Women Building Bridges held an "Evening of Indulgence" at Contours Spa & Wellness, Bloomfield, Connecticut on May 5, 2008. A group of approximately 25 women enjoyed mini "spa" treatments throughout the evening.
Women Building Bridges held hands-on demonstrations of fly-fishing and archery at Cabela's in East Hartford, Connecticut on Thursday, November 15, 2007. A group of approximately 30 women participated in the demonstrations and attended an informal dinner from Cabela's Candelight Grille at the conclusion of the demos.
Women Building Bridges also held a container gardening class at Gledhill Nursery, West Hartford, Connecticut on Thursday, May 17, 2007. Karla Dalley, a former Gledhill employee, discussed several plant varieties with the group and then led the group in designing their own container gardens.
On Wednesday, February 7, 2007, WBB held an "Evening of Feng Shui" at our offices at One State Street, Hartford, Connecticut. Ms. Peggy Therriault of Feng Shui Visions led an interactive discussion about this ancient Chinese art.
