Richard W. Pingel is an associate in the firm’s Hartford office and practices in the Corporate and Litigation Departments.
Mr. Pingel received his J.D., magna cum laude, from the Quinnipiac University School of Law and was honored as the recipient of the Outstanding Legal Scholarship Award as well as the Distinguished Academic Achievement Award for Trial Practice Procedures. Mr. Pingel was a member of the Quinnipiac Probate Law Journal, in which he published his article "Should Social Security Retire? A Study of Personal Retirement Accounts in the American Probate System." 20 Quinn. Prob. Law Jour. 99 (2006).
Mr. Pingel received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Arizona while serving as an intern for U.S. Senator John McCain. Mr. Pingel's service to Senator McCain was honored by a United States Senate Certificate of Appreciation. Prior to graduation, Mr. Pingel was invited to attend the Berger Entrepreneurship Program, currently ranked first in the nation by Entrepreneur Magazine & The Princeton Review, from which he graduated first in his class with the highest honors awarded.
Mr. Pingel worked for the Economic Development Commission of the Town of Guilford where he was involved in the planning and development process for numerous commercial projects and was also responsible for initiating several local economic development initiatives with the State of Connecticut. Mr. Pingel also served as the Connecticut Democratic Election Protection Statewide Coordinator for the 2006 Election, oversaw the 2007 electoral recount of the mayoral race in East Haven, and served as an Election Attorney for Congressman Joseph Courtney in 2008.
