Angel Peterson is an associate in the firm’s New Haven office, practicing in the firm’s Employment, Healthcare & Human Services and Commercial Litigation Practice Groups. Ms. Peterson practices in the defense of employment law issues and has assisted with the representation of clients before the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities, the Department of Labor, and the Workers’ Compensation Commission. She also conducts employment audits and policy and procedure reviews, and presents seminars on a variety of employment law topics.
Ms. Peterson’s practice in the area of healthcare and human services involves representation of healthcare facilities and other providers before the Office of Health Care Access, the Department of Public Health, and various other federal and state agencies. Ms. Peterson has assisted with Certificate of Need and licensure proceedings, and advises clients to ensure their ongoing compliance with the most recent state and federal laws and regulations. Additionally, in both the employment and healthcare and human services contexts, Ms. Peterson's experience includes representation of clients in the state and federal district courts.
Ms. Peterson is an active member of various professional and community associations, including the Connecticut Bar Association, New Haven County Bar Association, Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce, and American Health Lawyers Association. Additionally, Ms. Peterson is a member of the Inaugural Board Governance Class of the Institute for Effective Governance, a not for profit organization created to advise and assist organizations on governance issues
Ms. Peterson is admitted to the bar in the State of Connecticut, the State of New York and the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut. She received her J.D., magna cum laude, from Quinnipiac University School of Law, Hamden, Connecticut and B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Connecticut, Storrs, Connecticut.
