Mr. Byrne is a principal in the Firm’s Litigation Department. He focuses his practice on commercial litigation, creditors’ rights, and banking litigation. He has extensive experience representing financial institutions and other lenders in complex commercial loan workouts, foreclosures, bankruptcies, and check fraud and negotiable instrument litigation. He also represents businesses of many types in connection with contract disputes, ownership disputes, and other types of commercial litigation. Mr. Byrne also has successfully handled many tax assessment appeals on behalf of both municipalities and private property owners.  He is a trained civil mediator and an approved member of the Panel of Volunteer Mediators for the Hartford Bankruptcy Court.

 Mr. Byrne has authored and presented materials in connection with the Connecticut Bankers Association’s programs on Service of Process, the Connecticut Sub-Prime Mortgage Relief Legislation of 2008, and the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005.
