Tiziana Scaccia, a member of the Firm’s Creditors Rights & Bankruptcy practice groups, will be a presenter at an upcoming National Business Institute seminar titled Collections: Seeking and Collecting a Judgment.
The seminar, being held Wednesday, November 7,2012 in East Hartford, Connecticut, will provide an overview of debt collection litigation and post judgment enforcement. Ms. Scaccia will present on the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and on averting potential ethical problems in collections.
Ms. Scaccia focuses her practice primarily on creditors’ rights and bankruptcy. Ms. Scaccia also served as an adjunct professor at Fairfield University from 1996-1997 and in 2000, where she taught litigation, foreclosure and bankruptcy law courses. She is director of the Hartford chapter of the International Women's Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation. Ms. Scaccia is a member of the Executive Committee of the Commercial Law and Bankruptcy Section of the Connecticut Bar Association as well as a member of the Massachusetts and New York State Bar Associations. She is admitted to appear before the U.S. District Court, District of Connecticut and Southern District of New York, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Ms. Scaccia earned her B.S. degree from Fairfield University and her J.D. degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law.
